Turn On Yardage Per Pen

  1. Click the Account settings button on the top right corner of your Performance Beef account.
  2. Scroll down to the System Settings. There are two settings for yardage available:
    1. Yardage: This setting will allow you to track yardage costs based off of one rate per group, or one rate per pen.
      1. Yardage Per Group (Default)
      2. Yardage Per Pen
        1. When selecting Yardage Per Pen, a pop-up window will appear.
        2. To set yardage rates for all pens at once, enter a value into the white box under Set Default Yardage For All Pens at the top left corner of the pop-up window.
        3. To set yardage rates for individual pens, enter a value in the white box in the Yardage column for each pen listed.

Note: Changing to Yardage Per Pen will recalculate yardage for the lifetime of all groups including closed groups.

Note: You must enter a default yardage rate for every pen to prepare for any future pen movements.

  • When reverting back to Yardage Per Group (Default), the pop-up window will be pre-populated with yardage values that will keep the total yardage costs for each group as is. If you change these values, the change will be for the lifetime of the group. Yardage rates are for the lifetime of each group, they cannot be backdated during a specific time period.

With the ability to truly customize yardage settings, you can track yardage by pen, by group or both. If you are a custom feeder or farmer feeder, this option will save you time during critical billing timelines like moving cattle to pasture or selling cattle out. The reports settings also gives you the option to cut down on extra paperwork and will only show your customers important information like the total yardage cost due. If you decide to switch back to or from yardage per pen at any time, our platform will supply you with pre-populated yardage rates to smoothly transition your groups back in order to keep the original total yardage cost matching the previous calculation.
