Assigning ownership to a group of cattle is essential for tracking feed and added costs accurately. The Performance Beef platform will default to the account owner as the group owner to any incoming group of cattle. Group ownership can be reset to one or multiple people with the option to set a percentage of ownership for each party.

As the new group is saved within the platform, from the date of entry to group sale, any cost accrued to the group can be shown by running an owner invoice. An owner invoice will display feed and added costs to the owner for each group individually as well as a total for all groups. If the owner is part of a partial ownership split, the feedlot invoice reports will display the feed(lbs), feed cost, and added costs to the owner based on their ownership percentage.

Before establishing ownership, take the first step towards transparency and share your account with your customers. With a shared owner account, your customers can view their information for the groups they have ownership to. You can set the level of access and start sharing information to make more informed decisions about each group.
